Dan is the Vice President of Public Affairs at GuideStar. He is responsible for increasing business and collaborative opportunities with government agencies at the federal, state, and local levels and with certain national nonprofit organizations. He is currently overseeing the launch of Gov@GuideStar, a new service designed specifically for government decision makers. Dan is also overseeing efforts to provide access to GuideStar data to universities and colleges for use in the classroom and for uncompensated research through our Edu@GuideStar program. Before joining GuideStar, Dan was a chief law enforcement official overseeing charitable organizations in the Attorney General's Office in the State of New Mexico. He is a past president of the National Association of State Charity Officials (NASCO) and is a nationally recognized expert on nonprofit accountability. He holds a bachelor's degree from Miami University and a master’s degree from the University of New Mexico.
