John Zurick

John is a lifelong social entrepreneur, working in both the nonprofit and for-profit arenas, concentrating on ventures that influence the quality of society.
He began his career in Boston as a producer of commercial theater, where he presented projects at the Shubert Theater and Charles Playhouse. He worked in advertising as creative director on the Wendy's Hamburger account. He raised $4 million in 1989 and started Finis, Cincinnati's award-winning video post-production company. He served five years as marketing director of Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, introducing the orchestra's 16,000-seat outdoor concert venue, Riverbend Music Center. He is the executive producer of the documentary, Bill Monroe, Father of Bluegrass, which aired on TNN and the BBC. From 1997 to 2001 he was executive director of Cincinnati Ballet, helping that company raise $10 million for its endowment and headquarter expansion.
Through his Cincinnati-based consulting company ZQI, Inc., John works with leaders of socially-responsible ventures seeking turnarounds and breakthroughs. He's writing a book on leadership and blogs on the topic at: http://WorkAndChangeTheWorld.typepad.com
He holds an M.F.A. from Brandeis University and a B.A. from the State University of New York at Brockport.
