As Marketing Manager for Social Edge, I strive to help more social entrepreneurs find Social Edge and join our vibrant community. Before becoming a member of the Social Edge team, I worked for a number of Internet startups, including eBay, where I ran the Toys Category for nearly five years and was a member of the eBay Foundation governance committee. I have designed online and offline educational materials for small business owners, and co-authored two books for McGraw Hill: Fundraising on eBay and How to Make Money Online with eBay, Yahoo! and Google.
In my prior career lives, I worked at the Learning Company, a premier educational software company, and held several positions at the University of California at Berkeley, including (and of particular relevance to the May 13, 2008 discussion) Campus Emergency Preparedness Officer where I worked with essential service providers to develop emergency response plans, hold drills, educate staff, faculty & students, and facilitate communication in emergencies. While working for my alma mater, I also enjoyed working at the International House and the University Research Expeditions Program (through which I took part in two projects: an archaeological dig in Tanzania and a cultural project in Ecuador).
I graduated from UC Berkeley with Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Economy of Industrialized Societies. Go Bears!
