Roxanne Miller

Location: Berkeley, CA

As a MBA student at UC-Berkeley's Haas School of Business, Roxanne is learning business and technology management skills for her future career focused on developing economies. Roxanne's career interests include providing access to capital for entrepreneurs in emerging markets and the sustainable application of information and communication technologies (ICT) to address socio-economic development. As a 2008 Richard C. Blum Center Fellow, Roxanne will be working on the "Bodas for Life" project which seeks to improve access to healthcare for rural residents in Uganda. An active member of campus, Roxanne is the judging co-chair for the 2008 Global Social Venture Competition, co-chair for the Global Initiatives at Haas club and serves as a student interviewer. The summer before attending Haas, she was a Kiva Fellow in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. During her time working with a one of Kiva's Microfinance partners, YOSEFO, Roxanne interviewed over 120 Kiva entrepreneurs in the field and built a website for the organization. Roxanne is a marketer with expertise in small businesses. She spent over three years working at Yahoo! developing marketing programs and products for small businesses who want to establish and advertise their online presence. Previously Roxanne held marketing positions in the small business division of American Express. She began her career as an analyst for Mercer Management Consulting. She has a B.A. in communications with a concentration in Marketing from the University of Pennsylvania.
