Creating a Culture of Giving

by Dave Johnson last modified 2007-10-17 19:44

With the Clinton Global Initiative and his new book Giving, President Clinton is working to help trigger a new culture of giving.  He is using a positive example to incentivize people, worldwide.

Imagine an era of giving instead of an era of taking.  This is so much the opposite of recent times, which have been a time of greed and accumulation.

Imagine an era of people looking out for each other instead of a culture where we are all on our own, in it just for ourselves, for what we can get, with a dog-eat-dog attitude.  We see that all around us and it certainly has been pushed from the top.

Imagine an era of people doing good for other people.  This is what the Clinton Global Initiative is about.

Think about what it means to be a 21st century citizen in a time when reality catches up to the excesses we have been living.  Global warming, debt, war, division... Fixing the world begins with believing that individuals will make a difference.  As President Clinton said at the closing of CGI, he is trying to move people from opinion to conviction – from saying I Wish to saying I Will.

You are right: giving IS the right thing to do.

Cher Dave,

You ARE right: giving IS the right attitude and IS a HUGE positive movement catalyst!

I had to say that you ARE a fabulous positive blogger and it it a privilege to work for such a cool project like yours. I did contact you guys before, but no luck. Gee, you are more difficult to teach than the diplomats and media personalities I deal with. I really hope, that this time, you can read this.

Very cool blogs you organize there. I LOVE the true neighborhood spirit of it, as well as the huge holistic values that people seem to get from you!

SO, I WANTED TO POINT OUT HOW GIVING SEE TO HAPPEN, MORE AND MORE IN OUR WORLD: I have (not for a plug in as I do not do such things) to point out an amazing woman. Her name is Geri Weis-Corbley. Her "spiritual" and holistic work with her fabulous site showing, daily, good news is awesome! As an image (or website!) is worth a thousand words, please, at least check it! And yes, they are real links, no spam of course.

Her site:

Now about moi (to see that I usually am known for pointing out to people good things):

I created a website that now starts to REALLY make some noise and I make NO MONEY from people using its service. It proves that I do point out great things to people:

Again, this is not a plug in, neither spamming. Just sharing cool info and that is it. So, you really ought to have Geri mentioned on your blog even shared with the people you do know!. To read everyday the positive news coming from all over the world that her site shows (she even has got a pod-cast also) that even if the main TV channel news seem to share news that seemed doomed or because of sensationalism, that actually there are AS MUCH some good news that confirms that people can make this world better and are on the way to do it in a quite big way...everyday! Drop her a line IF YOU WISH, will you?

Her contact info (if you ever wish to speak to her)

Have a fab New year 2008! I would love to know more about what you do, so say hi if you wish!

Warmly,
