Hello Catharine,

Welcome to the 2008 GSBI application process, and thank you for submission of your Target Market Statement. I am happy to be the GSBI Task Force member who will provide you comments on each of the exercises.

It was a pleasure to learn about Access OnHand by reading Exercise 1. I’d like to make the following two comments:

1. Since cultural institutions offering audio tours exist worldwide, as do their patrons with sensory disabilities, your total available market is actually global. An estimate of the size of the global market will be useful when planning your strategy for scaling.

2. Including the cultural institutions in your Market Segmentation Table will allow you to separate the compelling reasons for adoption and non-adoption of the institutions and their patrons. This will in turn help you better tailor your offering to suit their needs.

This is an excellent beginning to your application. You are welcome to submit a revision of your Target Market Statement if you’d like, and please advance to Exercise 2 at any time. I look forward to reading the Value Proposition for Access OnHand.

Regards,
Susan Mandle

Dear Susan,

Thank you for your comments. I have updated the numbers in the GSBI Part 1 to reflect data for the world.

Best wishes,

Catharine
