Up to GSBI 2008 Exercise 1: Target Market Statement

yuQuest.com

Posted by David Jonathan at January 22. 2008

YuQuest.com is a company online which affords students,
college bound, the opportunity of seeing a full collection of available funds
and assists them in their search for scholarship money. YuQuest.com is able to
aid the decision of the students in selecting available scholarships by giving
them a full description of scholarship/awards available, and links to possible
sponsors.

YuQuest.com brings comprehensive and updated information on these available
scholarship/awards from potential sponsors/donors to students as close as
possible, therefore increasing their chances of making further education a
dream come true.

Yuquest.com also
provide quality testing platform for testing institutions, for their test
administrations. With yuquest.com, testing services can be a stress relieved
and a dream comes through for Nigerians. We hope to set a standard in the
African society of what quality testing, education, scholarships and
internships can be by providing an online platform to efficiently handle day to
day tough educational services.

Dear Mr. Jonathan,

Thank you very much for submitting the GSBI exercise 1. My name is Katharine Wilson, and I am a member of the GSBI Application Task Force. I will be working with you on your application, which I found very interesting. I think you did a very thorough analysis of the total available market, but I have some suggestions for the two other sections of your exercise that would make it stronger.

1. In evaluating your total addressable market, it is important that you provide information on the following elements of your addressable market, as appear in the exercise 1 instructions:

description

characteristics

needs

how needs are met

estimate of size

basis for estimation

2. Also in your addressable market evaluation, you may wish to provide examples of other alternatives to yuQuest, which you may consider to be your "competitors", in addition to non-consumption. You mention in the following section that a reason for your beneficiaries to not use your program might be that they choose an alternative program out there. This is the place to mention those and identify their position in the market.

3. Finally, in your market segmentation analysis, you may choose to break you direct beneficiaries into smaller segments - one of students, one of test providers, and one of teachers. Each of these types of people probably has a different reason to use your program and to not use your program. Identifying these differences is what helps you figure out how to reach out to these groups. You may also wish to do something similar with your indirect beneficies.

I look forward to seeing your updated exercise 1. I am here to guide you through this process, so please feel free to post back if you have any questions or if I can provide any

assistance. Also, if you have trouble with this site, you can also post directly to me by searching for "KCW" on the members page: http://www.socialedge.org/Members

Best,

Katharine

Dear Mr. Jonathan,

I just wanted to follow up with you regarding your GSBI application.
The exercise 1 period has now closed, and so you are welcome to proceed
to exercise 2, value proposition, if you wish. You can find the
instructions for this exercise here:
http://www.socialedge.org/features/gsbi/gsbi/exercise-2-value-proposition

However, I am more than happy to review an updated exercise 1, if you
wish to post that. If you have any questions, please feel free to post
them, as well.

I look forward to reading your exercise 2!

Best,

Katharine
