The TEN Project

Up to GSBI 2008 Exercise 3: Business Model

The TEN Project

Posted by Therese at February 24. 2008

Hi Katharine et al,

Here's the first draft of our business models. The estimated figures for the income side are fairly rough, I have a bit more work to do there, but thought I should submit as is to get some feedback in the meantime.

Thanks

Therese

Hi Therese,

Thank you for your exercise 3 - it looks good. I also received your email - it's fine to submit something after Feb. 26 if you have additional income information; however, we are more interested in percentages of the total income and expense that each driver contributes. Would you be able to add those in to your fishbone diagrams?

I think your critical success factors are good; I think once you have a better sense of your income, you will know how many paying players you will need to have vis a vis non-paying players. If you can approximate that now, your exercise would be improved.

And, within your critical success factors, I think you alluded to the need to attract sufficient game development volunteers as well as game players. Your marketing or distribution channels to attract these people will be key, as well as your ability to engage them consistently (especially the game developers.) I might just make these channel factors more explicit in your critical success factors. You've got several factors related to advertising, and I think you can condense those down into one and include another that addresses this additional important question. One of the biggest challenges for most social enterprises is just reaching their target markets.

Feel free to let me know if you have any further questions; I'll look forward to seeing your updated version. Have fun at your business seminar!

Best,

Katharine

Hi Katharine,

Thanks for the feedback. I guess I'm a little late with this and I see you've selected finalists already but just in case here it is . I've updated the exercise with % etc. Thanks for all your assistance.
