Rainwater Harvesting System - Business Model

Up to GSBI 2008 Exercise 3: Business Model

Rainwater Harvesting System - Business Model

Posted by Reed Sembower at February 12. 2008

Ananth,

Hello. Here is a draft of my business model. Comments on improvements would be appreciated.

The exercise doesn't call for including startup funding, nor accounting for those funds in the expense fishbone. Should I adjust the revenue fishbone to include them, drop them from the expense fishbone or what?

Thanks,

Reed

Hello Reed,

The exercise looks good. However it would be more credible if this reflects the next 2 to 3 yrs rather than till 2015 projections and new markets. The idea behind this exercise is to figure out how your company can sustain in the short term and scale in the long terms. So my suggestion would be to reduce the time frame reference to max 3 years and also include how much initial grants you are looking for.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks

Ananth

Ananth,

Attached is my revised business plan.

Thanks very much for the comments. They really helped. In
fact, I’ve found all three exercises and the whole experience to be very
helpful. My fuzzy ideas became much clearer when I had to organize them within a structured format. Having
a good mentor to run to for help was very helpful and reassuring.

Thanks,

Reed

The new submission looks good. With this all parts of the application process are complete. Someone from the GSBI will contact you in the next couple of weeks regarding the status of your application and how to proceed further.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Good Luck.
