Executive Director - Guatemala City
Safe Passage is seeking an Executive Director with substantial experience in management of educational and human services for at-risk children. Safe Passage is an innovative and successful non-profit organization providing a comprehensive program of educational reinforcement, vocational training, social work, and health care services for over 600 impoverished children, ages 2-18, and their families residing in the environs of the Guatemala City garbage dump.
The Executive Director needs effective administrative, team building, and fundraising skills to manage a growing organization of over 100 staff plus volunteers in Guatemala and a small US support office headquartered in Maine with total annual operating budget of $2 million. He/she needs to persuasively communicate the organization’s vision to staff, supporters and donors.
Interested candidates should have a passionate commitment to serving disadvantaged children, have aptitude for cultural sensitivity, be bilingual in Spanish and English and possess a desire to reside in Guatemala with regular travel for fundraising.
