Managing Director, Strategy & Operations, New York, NY
Teach For America seeks a managing director of strategy and operations to manage organization-wide human assets strategic processes. This is an exciting new role focused on managing ongoing human assets processes, including compensation and headcount planning and budgeting. The managing director, strategy and operations must ensure that processes are run efficiently, meet organizational, manager and staff member needs and provide critical data and information in a timely way.
The managing director of strategy will report to the vice president of strategy and manage the senior compensation analyst. This is an ideal position for someone looking to build critical human resources processes from the ground up who has experience doing business process redesign.

Responsibilities
• Working with human assets business partners and department managers to create annual headcount plans and salary budgets and to create monthly headcount forecasts as an input into our budgeting process
• Ensuring alignment between our compensation philosophy and practices by managing and continually improving the salary quote process for new hires and our annual salary increase process
• Collaborating with the Senior Compensation Analyst and Teach For America’s senior leadership to regularly refine our compensation strategy and practices
• Managing the annual compensation review process in partnership with the Senior Compensation Analyst
• Ensuring the integrity of salary and position-based data in our HRIS systems by working with human assets business partners and department managers to conduct regular data audits
• Managing the senior compensation analyst
Candidate Profile and Experience Prerequisites
Skills
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Prior HR and/or significant business process redesign experience preferred
• Desirable, but not required: MBA, management consulting experience, and/or compensation experience
• Minimum of 6 years of work experience preferred
• Exceptional strategic, analytical, and conceptual thinking skills
• Passion for solving problems and improving processes
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment and build consensus
• Ability to manage large operational systems and processes

Technical Skills
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel highly preferred
