The Prosperity Project - An 'Open Source' Social Enterprise

DoughNation Services LLC

Five years after founding DoughNation Services LLC and pioneering the donation services industry - I introduced the Prosperity Project.  An 'open source' social enterprise, the Prosperity Project enables individuals and organizations who commit to 'do well by doing good' to build - and own outright - donation services enterprises.

DoughNation is the first service in the nation to provide homeowners with tax deduction documentation and delivery for larger donations of quality clothing and belongings.  The service is tax deductible as part of making a charitable donation, and customers all gain deductions worth at least what they paid for service (usually more) while feeling good about helping their community.

On July 17, the first story about the Prosperity Project appeared on HappyNews.com:

On August 17, when President Bush signed the 2006 Pension Protection Act, charitable giving laws changed - making donation services an even more important emerging industry.

Now, tax deductions can only be claimed for belongings in 'good or better used condition'.  This makes the photographs and itemized lists that DoughNation provides essential documentation when claiming deductions above $500.

On October 2, Renee Mitchell of the Oregonian published a column on my work:
