Do you want to star in a Documentary?

Posted by Bridget Fitzgerald at April 01. 2007
Hi there,
I am a clinical social worker in Gainesville, Florida, just admitted to the documentary film production program at University of Florida's College of Journalism, Documentary Institute, starting in August 2007. For the 2 year program I and a partner will direct and produce a major film project and there will be smaller projects as well. My career aspiration is to produce films about social entrepreneurs. If you are such a wonder of a human being or know someone whose story must be shared with the world (to inform, inspire, and transform), please let me know.
Best wishes to all,
Bridget Fitzgerald

Hello, my name is Jimmy Lauriello, I am 16 years old, and I am in my junior year of high school, I recently started and had approved my own environmental council, with research, and restoration projects planned throughout the year. Our main goal is to educate both children and adults alike about how they can help our environment and that everything counts. Right now we are trying to get our feet off the ground, we are trying to raise money and get our names known so maybe we could be of service to your documentary project. Our research projects are in the works right now, our first is a Florida Fighting Conch restoration project, with this we will be in partnership with Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute, to aid us in our research. The next will be a mangrove restoration project and then we have planned various reef clean up projects, and artificial reef projects. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.

Sincerely

Jimmy Lauriello

Hi Bridget,

I have seen your request about if we know someone whose story must be shared with the world (to inform, inspire, and transform), to please let you know.

First of all, I shall apologize for me contacting you via this letter but you are very difficult to reach and I must do so: mainly because any pioneering idea that matches your beliefs should be shared with you and I am about to introduce an amazing Lady, Sherry Erickson, that HAS GOT to be invested in even more.

As for me, I am not looking for a sponsor, neither a plug in, do not spam and do not seek fame. So, hopefully, this intro should attract your genuine attention to who I am: Someone that wishes to help people even more AND to share the vision of that woman who embodies courage and compassion for Nicaragua from the US people (Colorado to start with).

About moi, briefly: Born in France, Catering (6 years), English and American Law (4 years), Business in U.K and USA in service (3 years), International Environmental/Human Affairs PR with French, Canadian, U.K and US Governments (15 years), PR/private security for known people (3 years), Special Telecommunications (2 years), Martial Arts (Mato Do, my own style, 7 years), Army (Sergeant Drill Instructor), Firefighting in England (accredited) and now founder of www.infogatherer.com

I do some "magic" buy showing people within a few days of having been asked, how to realize their dream via 1 e mail only, tailored to their needs and FOR FREE! It works (as I am often told now, from people in the USA, U.K, New Zealand, Australia).

Anyway: to see that I am real, you may go on my site on that page:

http://www.infogatherer.com/contactus.html
(then click on Guestbook to see how people seem amazed of what I do).

All this introduction is to confirm that I KNOW about people, business and what works or not in ventures.
I usually do not introduce people to others per se BUT I had to introduce this one: Sherry Erickson. She is UNBELIEVABLE. Her work for Nicaragua is a tribute to American compassion and ingenuity. She already has done so much on her own AND have got a all made project that is out already but just need some boosting.

You reputation precedes you, so I had to contact you. I said to Sherry to allow me to contact visionary key people as I suggested to her.
I usually get big results when I speak to world changers because I always underline what is of upmost quality and why they should have a look at it.
So, without any more talk, please read her letter below. 1 phone call from you can make history because her material is already a winner for not only the people of Nicaragua people but to show the world that the USA here walk its talk when speaking of compassion!

Her Letter

At a time when the funds seem to get tighter, yet we are on the verge of a major breakthrough, no doubt, your words come as food for the soul. We had our first two hour board meeting yesterday for ATRAVES (www.atraves.org). They are the 'parent' organization that got me started in Nicaragua. I am now officially the President. Gee. I've never been the president of anything before. NICA (www.nicaproject.org) is the organization that I helped form here in Colorado so that those of us here could do fundraising together, as we are geographically close, and working in the same parts of Nicaragua! ATRAVES just applied for our 501c3, and so we've been told, can officially begin soliciting funds that would be tax exempt!!!! This is the big breakthrough, as we've had donors 'toying' with us, but not willing to commit until we had the non-profit status. You could certainly help by creating some kind of a 'press-release' perhaps? That ATRAVES can now officially solicit tax-deductible donations, of money and/or medical supplies, towards our work there. NICA can be mentioned anywhere, at any time, as well, as we are all doing great work! Thank you for your ongoing support and encouragement. Its not easy, and I am comforted by the thought that SOMEONE is watching ;))).... whoever/wherever s/he is.

So, if you wish to do some magic, then the gesture is yours. I trust that your heart and the known good name you have shall do what is right for her.
Maybe you even know who can invest in the blooming of what she does? If so, or even to help, you may contact her directly if you wish so:

Dear Bridget,

I came across your post on "social edge.com" and I have something wonderfully unique for you.  I'm the president of a nonprofit that guides children to become the social entrepreneurs of tomorrow, by solving real world problems today.  It's called RandomKid (www.randomkid.org).  We believe any "RandomKid" can solve real world problems.

I am inspired on a daily basis by the children we work with.  As one blogger recently put it, "(Children) are the ones who can change the world because they have not learned that they can't."  (http://edbrenegar.typepad.com/leading_questions/2008/02/water-for-life.html).

You are more than welcome to follow any one of our several young social entrepreneurs who have yet to graduate from high school (many are still in elementary school!)

Here's more about what we do:

Imagine being a kid who has a cool idea on how to help a worthy cause.   Could that kid really make an impact?  What if that child had a little support from grown-ups?  What if that child could hook up with other kids around the world who have the same goals?  A lot of "littles" can make something big.  Kids proved that: As reported on the ABC News Website ( http://blogs.abcnews.com/theblotter/2006/08/us_school_kids_.html )  Kids collectively raised over $10 Million dollars for hurricane relief and rebuilding after Hurricane Katrina!

Recently three elementary classrooms in the USA started their own bottled water businesses.  They created their own brand, marketing plan, and they sold the water.  In just six months these children together have funded a pump in rural South Africa--providing clean, safe water--for the first time--to 700 children and a surrounding community of 2500 people, and they hope to have another pump funded by the end of the school year.  NBC Nightly News highlighted them for "Making a Difference" (watch here:  http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22425001/vp/22380927#22380927)   As you watch the personal story of a South African girl who has suffered from lack of water, think about the fact that there are 699 other kids at her school alone with a similar story.  And then think about the amazing feeling that each of the kids in the USA had (you'll see one of them at the ripe old age of nine, proud to be contributing to society)--knowing that they significantly helped this community.

All of these  children have something in common:  They were brought together by a nonprofit organization called RandomKid (www.randomkid.org).  RandomKid believes in the "Power of ANYone."  Any RandomKid CAN change the world.  Through RandomKid, children have joined together to fight pediatric cancer, AIDS, and help individuals in their own communities.  They're building a school in Cambodia!  And so much more (see www.randomkid.org/impact.asp).

What is really neat about all of this, is that not only are people receiving the support that they need; but children are learning how to solve real world problems.  And once they've harnessed their power for the greater good, they are moved to continue to help.  We worked with one 10-year-old girl named "Tasha", who had the goal of eradicating homelessness.  We started her with helping furnish a Habitat for Humanity home.  We helped her get meetings with area leaders, and the next thing you know, Tasha had furnished the entire house!  We only later learned that Tasha herself lives in a small trailer with little of her own.  Tasha is now walking tall--initiating projects of her own to help others!

RandomKid is helping kids become innovative and successful world problem-solvers.  By doing this, we believe we are securing a better fate for our world now, and into the future.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
