2005 Skoll World Forum Overview

Oxford University, England
March 30 through April 1
"Making Networks Really Work"
More than 600 people from six continents and 40 countries came together to advance the field of social entrepreneurship for the 2005 Skoll World Forum for Social Entrepreneurship.
This year's program focused on networks and the crucial roles they play for social entrepreneurs and their supporters. Social Edge was there in force, bringing information and inspiration back to Social Edge so members of our online network can learn, flourish and grow! Coverage included daily updates, thought leader pieces, and streaming audio and video! Even if you were not there, you can still tap into the knowledge and experience of the World Forum online at Social Edge! Each delegate had their own interest areas and focused on different aspects of the Forum, so be sure to look for the issues you care about.
Sohodojo Jim and Timlynn, who focused on the "Small Is Good World," describe their active roles on Social Edge: "For the last year or so, an informal group of social entrepreneurs on Social Edge have been drawn together through our mutual interest in what can most easily be described as social business ecosystems."
C Kirabo, whose coverage emphasizes the Global Social Change Movement, is an optimist. "I believe there is evidence that we are growing, merging and converging very rapidly, on a global scale," she writes.
