Findlaw is not consumer friendly --legalwhistler, Fri, 02 May 2008 21:35:51 -0700 reply

Until now, the primary way to find a lawyer was by using a website like findlaw.com or using a lawyer referral service often found in the yellow pages or sponsored by the local Bar Association. Some people get referrals from friends or relatives. However, until now, finding a lawyer has been a gamble and done blindly. The best way to find a lawyer is to hear, first hand, about that lawyers previous performance. Lawyer rating & review websites are the wave of the future. Websites like findlaw.com are available for the benefit of lawyers. It is not focused on the legal consumer and instead accepts advertising dollars from the legal community. Findlaw.com serves "Biglaw" and not the legal consumer.
